Hello . I am a hindu who belongs to kuruba gowda community, I am really interested lingayat religion for its reformatory influence and it's Kannada literature . If I convert will I be equal with others or there is a difference I
mean I know I will not be equal to priest but in general will I be a proper Lingayata or just new convert ??

Your will same as other Lingayats there is no discriminations.

ಕೂಡಲಸಂಗಮದೇವಾ, ನಂಬುವೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶರಣನು - ಬಸವಣ್ಣ ಸವಸ
ಕುಲಛಲವ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿಮ್ಮನೊಲಿಸಿದ ಶರಣರಿಗೆ
ತಲೆವಾಗುವೆ ನಾನು ಕುಲಜರೆಂದು.
ಬೆಬ್ಬನೆ ಬೆರತು ನಿಮ್ಮನೊಲಿಸಿದ ಶರಣರಿಗೆ
ತಲೆವಾಗದವನ ತಲೆ ಶೂಲದ ಮೇಲಣ ತಲೆ ಕಾಣಾ!

I bow to those Sharanas
Regarding them us high-born
Who pleased you by abandoning their caste?
O Ramanaatha
His head is on the gallows
Who does not bow to the Sharanas?
That pleased you by mingling freely with all!
